C.P. #1 - Conversational Pieces (pieces of conversation)
An Introduction
often times i am reminded of how rich and exciting and altogether crazy my life is by the conversations i find myself in. so this installment of posts will serve as a collection of some of the wild and thoughtful and absurd and inspiring pieces of some of my recent conversations with people. this should be very interesting, seeing how diverse the people are that i surround myself with.
this week in conversations:
i didn't know they made haunted dance-club churches - because of you, that single day marked the first day of the rest of my life - your name tastes like peas - thou art a most stalwart lad - as a man, what are your intimacies with God like? because as a woman, i tell God that i love Him and He tells me He loves me back and God spoons with me at night - I can't even say the word twitter without feeling gayish - McCain is a d!@%head but he is a d!@%head with God's agenda, that is why i voted for him - you have an abundance of whimsy - i'm not perfect but you like looking at me - it's been a long time coming but i know a change is gonna come - i have fresh-baked words - facebook is the anti-christ - can you pray over that duck, something has happened to its head - i have learned to appreciate the good times and the bad times - i box like there's a "re" in front of me, you heard what i said? i box like... you know Reeboks. there's a "re" in front of me. get it? - we can't play basketball at that park today because they are having a dog show there - i wouldn't marry jimmy fallon because i don't know how he feels about spanking children - to a worm in horse-radish, the world is horse-radish - your last words should always be words that last

the minority report is upon us
g-speak overview 1828121108 from john underkoffler on Vimeo.
if you haven't seen minority report, i would recommend that you do. i am not big into science fiction but this film is so much more than just sci-fi. it is a well made mix that i would call "futuristic-film noir". and the film poses some great questions about fate, determinism, free will, foreknowledge, and the theory of self-fulfilled prophecy.
(this post is about TECHNOLOGY, so i will revisit these deeper topics in a later post)
so, if you own this movie on dvd, then you should have the bonus features disc. WATCH IT! they talk about the technology and how they came up with the ideas for everything that is seen in the movie. they explain how they pulled together some of the world's most respected scientists, architects, and engineers to paint a picture of what they felt the world would look like in the year 2054 (or something like that). so all of the vehicles, weaponry, computer operating systems, buildings, transportation systems and media-technology advancements are not just imagination but rather a sneak peak at what is to come. and some of it is already upon us. get familiar!
